  THE VISION

  The former Lane Bryant Building, once a prominent retail destination, has enjoyed a significant presence on Woodward Avenue since 1917. It was among a group of historic buildings that showcased temporary graphic displays to brighten the downtown streetscape during Super Bowl XL. 1520 Woodward was also part of a revitalization project that uses solar energy to light the facades of select landmark buildings – the first application of its kind in Michigan. 1520 Woodward is slated for significant redevelopment into creative office space with retail space on the street level that is currently attracting much attention in Detroit’s newly thriving WEBward district.
